We install Owens Corning exclusively, and there’s a reason for that — it’s not just brand loyalty. As an Owens Corning Preferred Contractor, we’re held to installation standards that most contractors aren’t, and that certification is what allows us to back your roof with the Owens Corning Preferred Warranty on qualifying installations. That warranty is significantly stronger than what a standard contractor can offer, and it matters when something goes wrong down the road.
Here’s a look at the shingle lines we install and what differentiates them:
Oakridge is Owens Corning’s entry-level architectural shingle — a dimensional shingle that offers a clean, classic look at an accessible price point. It’s a solid, reliable option for homeowners who want a quality roof without premium material costs. Note that the Owens Corning Preferred Warranty is not included with Oakridge installations.
Duration is where most of our homeowners land — and it’s what we recommend most often. In Montana, wind is a bigger concern than hail for most of our service area, and Duration is engineered with that reality in mind. It features a patented SureNail technology — a reinforced nail strip that dramatically improves how the shingle holds under wind stress and significantly reduces blow-offs. After seeing firsthand what wind does to roofs that weren’t installed with the right product, we don’t take that lightly. Duration carries a Class 3 impact resistance rating and qualifies for the Owens Corning Preferred Warranty.
TruDefinition Duration builds on the standard Duration with enhanced color contrast and deeper shadow lines for a more dimensional, high-end appearance. Same performance profile and wind resistance, stronger curb appeal. Also qualifies for the Preferred Warranty.
Duration Flex is our Class 4 impact resistant option — the highest impact resistance rating available in asphalt shingles. It’s engineered with a modified asphalt formula that gives the shingle more flexibility under impact. While hail is less of a factor in our area than wind, Duration Flex is worth considering for homeowners whose insurance providers offer premium discounts for Class 4 rated shingles — the savings can offset the cost difference over time. Also qualifies for the Preferred Warranty.
Beyond these core lines, Owens Corning also offers specialty shingle options for homeowners looking for specific aesthetics or performance characteristics. We’re happy to walk you through what’s available during your estimate.
