Not much — we handle the heavy lifting. A few things that make the day go smoothly:

  • Cut your grass short the day before your install. We roll your yard for nails at the end of the job, and shorter grass makes that significantly more effective.
  • Clear the delivery area the day before your install so materials can be staged without issues. We’ll coordinate with you on where that works best.
  • Move vehicles out of the driveway and away from the home on install day. Tear-off generates debris and we want your cars well clear of it.
  • Protect or move anything fragile near the exterior of your home — potted plants, outdoor décor, anything you’d hate to see bumped or covered in dust. Our crew takes precautions, but giving fragile items some extra distance never hurts.
  • Let us know about anything we should be aware of — a pet that gets anxious around strangers, a gate code, a neighbor situation. The more context we have, the smoother the day runs.
  • Plan to be reachable — not hovering, just available. If we find something unexpected on your decking, we’ll want to talk with you before proceeding.

That’s genuinely about it. We’ve done this enough times to anticipate most of what comes up — your job is to let us work.

One more thing — if you or a neighbor finds a nail after we’ve wrapped up, please call us. We roll the yard thoroughly, but roofing is an imperfect process and we’d rather come back and take care of it than have it end up in a tire. That’s not an inconvenience to us, it’s part of the job.
